OFITECO has signed a contract in Perú related with the preparation of a pre-investment study in a dam construction

PEOT (Proyecto Especial Olmos Tinajones) has awarded OFITECO a project for the development of a study regarding the level of profile of the Montería Reservoir dam project and related works in the Chancay Valley - Lambayeque, Chongoyape, province of Chiclayo and Department of Lambayeque District.

The Tinajones Hydraulic System is a set of hydraulic works built several decades ago with the purpose of providing water resources to an important part of the coastal population in the Department of Lambayeque, primarily for use in agriculture.

The elapsed time and the effects of natural phenomena that have impacted the infrastructure has produced deterioration and obsolescence in some of its elements, putting at risk the sustainability of its ability to provide water to users.

On the other hand, agro-industry has been one of the fastest growing activities in recent years, the Chancay Valley - Lambayeque being one of the most dynamic in the
northern part of the country, so having sufficient water resources becomes a critical aspect of the economy of the people of the region...

A such, the Montería Reservoir dam is being built in order to ensure that water reaches the crops of the agricultural areas of the Chancay-Lambayeque Valley in a timely and efficient manner, as well as to supply water for public consumption.

The awarded work is intended to carry out the hydraulic approach and preliminary basic studies, to sustain and justify the implementation in the short term works to ensure the proper functioning of the Hydraulic Tinajones System. Projecting the construction of the Montería Reservoir dam, which includes projects involving water capturing, a feeder channel, primary and secondary levees, a discharge channel and attached works of art.
