ACCREDITATIONS:

• Inscription in the  Laboratories Registry of Accredited Testing (2005)
• Inscription in the  Testing Laboratories Registry of Quality Control  of the Construction.(2009)

Since 1988, OFITECO has a laboratory specialized in building materials and equipment control. This laboratory belongs to the Regional Office of Andalusia, and is located in the city of Granada. Nowadays it carries out acceptance inspections in several sites, as an independent entity or as part of construction supervision teams.

Since 1992, this laboratory is certified by the Department of Public Works and Housing of the Andalusian Regional Government and it is registered in the Construction Quality Control Test Laboratories Registry. This certification proves that our laboratory has the necessary technical and human resources to provide technical support to public works projects in these fields:

• HC. Plain concrete and its components
• SV. Road tests
• SE. Soils. Laboratory tests
• SF. Flexible pavements (certified in 1998)

In 2005, the regulation on laboratories certification was amended, and it was provided that laboratories should comply with the ISO 17025 standard. According to this new regulation, our laboratory was certified in these fields:

• EHC. Concrete and its components control
• GTL. Geotechnics laboratory tests.
• VSG. Soils, aggregates, bituminous mixes and road components tests.
• VSF. Road flexible and bituminous pavements control.
• EAS. Control of steel structure profiles welding (certified in 2008).

The laboratory has been specifically certified in the “linear works” field by the Department of Public Works and Housing of the Andalusian Regional Government (Resolution of the Directorate General for Planning and Sustainability of 14 October 2009). This certification confirms and completes the certifications that the laboratory already had, and enables it to carry out control activities in these areas:

• Area A: Soils, bituminous pavements and other materials
  Group A1. Fills and subgrades
  Group A2. Bituminous materials
  Group A3. Other materials
• Area B: Binders, aggregates, water, concrete and concrete prefabricated elements.
  Group B1. Hydraulic binders and water
  Group B2. Aggregates, rock fills and filler
  Group B3. Concrete, grout, prefabricated and self-compacting materials
• Area C: Metallic products and signs.
  Group C2. Signs and traffic guidance equipment.

Nowadays, in addition to the main laboratory, located in the regional office, we have two field laboratories in Malaga and Aguadulce (Seville) that have the necessary equipment to carry out the most common tests. We also have a radioactive centre authorized by the CSN with six nuclear units.

The laboratory has a quality system since 1999, certified by the Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación, AENOR and compliant with the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2008 standard, for these activities:  

Public works technical support on materials quality control in these technical fields: plain concrete control, cement, aggregates and water, flexible and bituminous pavements and their components; soil mechanics laboratory tests and bituminous pavements and their components control.

Since 1999, the laboratory also has an environmental management system compliant with the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004 standard and certified by the Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación, AENOR.

The laboratory’s technical team is made up of skilled and diligent technicians who have wide experience in quality control and inspection activities.
