Instrumentation & Systems Engineering
These are our main actions in the instrumentation and systems field:
Dam Monitoring Design, implementation and maintenance of monitoring systems for the proper continuation of dam performance both during the construction process and subsequently during its operation.

Implementation of Emergency Plans for Dams: Project and Works During the implementation of emergency plans, OFITECO essentially takes charge of the following three tasks: |

Underground Works Control
The huge boom in underground works which has taken place in an urban setting over the past decade has enabled us to provide many times our extensive technical expertise and control on monitoring of the structural safety of works in their implementation phase. This has been especially important during our participation in the redevelopment of the Madrid metro and the excavation of the M30, the Málaga metro, or Metro-Train Gijon.

Bridge and Viaduct Performance Monitoring
Using the latest monitoring technology (SHM), the necessary systems for the proper tracking of the structure’s performance are defined and installed both during the construction process and the phase of operation.
Monitoring of flow volumes in canals and ditches
Since its inception, one of OFITECO’s fields of activity has been systems engineering of Regulatory Control. This field has been expanded gradually to now cover all types of hydrological and hydraulic infrastructure remote systems, including: irrigation channels, supply networks, the Automatic Hydrological Information System (SAIH´s, etc.).
Meteorological Observation Networks
We have at our disposal ample capacity for the design, installation and maintenance of weather monitoring systems based both on our experience in the installation of automatic weather observation stations on the surface and in our involvement with national networks of storm detection and observation radar AEMET.
Seismic Monitoring Systems
We perform the design, installation and monitoring of seismic monitoring systems for dynamic control structures (dams, bridges, nuclear power plants, etc.). Also, we establish microseismic networks for the analysis of the possible effects of induced seismic activity and carry out risk studies regarding the seismic hazard in facilities.

Dam, Facility and Infrastructure Maintenance, Meteorological Networks and Seismic Monitoring Systems
Our experience in the field of instrumentation and control is complemented by a long history in maintaining large infrastructures both in the field of civil works and information systems.
